The Agency is recruiting for a Chief Research and Conservation Officer on behalf of our client.

Impactful Leadership: Drive key research and conservation initiatives in collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and scientific institutions.

Scientific Oversight: Lead a multidisciplinary team and guide applied research within a dynamic marine biology environment.

Operational Management: Oversee administrative functions, supply chains, and facility maintenance to support organisational effectiveness.

• Oversee the daily operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Manage procurement and inventory of office supplies, ensuring timely restocking and proper oversight.
• Identify and research areas on-site that require increased attention or improvement.
• Support and coordinate research activities, including data collection, analysis, and the preparation of reports for external stakeholders.
• Act as a key technical point of contact while also handling administrative responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

• A PhD in Marine Biology or a related field and at least 10 years of professional experience.  
• Certification in Aquatic Life Support Systems to Level 1 would be desirable.
• Previous experience working on peer-reviewed publications.
• Thorough understanding of research techniques and methodologies.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate and work with a team. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly when writing research papers.  

  

Salary: CI$139,000 – CI$166,000 per annum.
