Temporary. Immigration Specialist

This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end preparation, submission, and monitoring of immigration applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery in line with Cayman Islands Labour and Immigration requirements.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-driven, and comfortable working in a deadline-intensive environment while providing clear guidance and professional support to clients throughout the immigration process.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Case Management

  • Work directly with clients to obtain all required documentation and information necessary to prepare immigration applications.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear guidance on immigration procedures, documentation requirements, and timelines.
  • Provide accurate information and assistance to clients regarding applicable legal and procedural requirements.

Application Preparation & Submission

  • Prepare high-quality work permit and immigration correspondence, including cover letters and supporting documentation.
  • File immigration applications accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to matters arising from submissions, including queries, requests for further information, and follow-ups.

Process Coordination & Quality Control

  • Collaborate closely with the Team Manager to facilitate the timely processing of permits and meet monthly filing targets.
  • Finalise immigration documents following managerial review, ensuring all corrections and compliance checks are completed.
  • Ensure all immigration deadlines are met, proactively managing timelines and escalating risks where necessary.

Systems, Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within internal databases and case management systems.
  • Utilise immigration and case preparation tools efficiently to manage workload and application status.
  • Run reports to support permit tracking, workload planning, and compliance monitoring.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing immigration processes, ideally within the Cayman Islands.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cayman Islands Labour and Immigration laws, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation in practice.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks based on urgency and importance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in client-facing correspondence.
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining consistency and compliance.
  • Professional judgement, discretion, and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.

This is a 3-6 month contract and Caymanian/ RERC/ PR Holders are preferred. Hourly rate US$25-37 DOE.
